Why I Still Play Destiny 2
So if you’ve read my About Me page you know that I started playing video games back when Destiny came out. Well I was so excited for Destiny 2 that I couldn’t wait to play it.
Destiny 2 came out with all sorts of problems and the game that I loved just wasn’t there anymore. The vault sucked, the story line was short, they re-skinned the Destiny 1 weapons and armor…and so much more.
I still stuck with the game and dealt with the problems because…well I loved Destiny 1 and that game started bad but got better. So I had hopes for Destiny 2.
And then the first DLC came out and with it so many problems in the within the Destiny community and Bungie.
I’m going to be honest, I finished everything in the Curse of Osiris DLC hit max light and quit playing for 2 months because I was so bored.
As for the problems with Bungie…yeah I was angry that they made everything about Eververse and Micro Transactions, And that they quit talking to the community and telling us what was going on. But not to the point where I was boycotting the game. I was just bored.
With the news of the Warmind DLC coming soon I decided I better get back on so that I was ready for it because like I said I was hopeful things would turn around for Bungie and the game. Well as far as I’m concerned it did.
Warmind gave me a reason to grind again…which is something I was sorely missing. I’m still only at 376 on my highest character but the other ones are close behind at 372-374….as I’m writing this I realize I really need to do a raid ?
The Warmind came with armor sets to grind for that could only be gotten through their new Escalation Protocol, and a bunch of things to shoot so you could get the Worldline Zero Exotic sword and the G-335 Anseris Overdrive Exotic sparrow.
It was just so much new stuff and yeah I was still mad that we were just fighting hive and they were re-skinning things the one thing I was happiest with was that I got my beloved Sleeper Simulant back.
There is enough to do in Destiny 2 now that I enjoy playing again. It makes me happy and excited to get on each week and try to level up my light (power, for those that didn’t play Destiny 1)
Do they still have a lot to do to catch up to where they were with Destiny 1? Yeah of course, the game is in no way perfect but at least they are getting better.
And with the newest DLC coming out in September, Forsaken seems like it will just put Destiny to back up to where it should be.
And before you ask, yes I’m going to pay for the Season Pass. It’s a new thing that will be coming to the Destiny franchise but for me this is my go to game. So any chance at new content and I’m there.
I love the fact that I’m excited about this game again and I love that it’s moving forward in a good direction.
Hopefully Forsaken will do the same things for Destiny 2 that The Taken King did for Destiny 1….
All I can do now is hope for the best and hang on for the ride.
Do you play Destiny 2? I’m always looking for more people to play with so if you play on Xbox let me know ?
